ГЛИНКА Михаил Иванович (1804-57) , российский композитор, родоначальник русской классической музыки. Оперы "Жизнь за царя" ("Иван Сусанин", 1836) и "Руслан и Людмила" (1842) положили начало двум направлениям русской оперы - народной музыкальной драме и опере-сказке, опере-былине. Симфонические сочинения, в т. ч. "Камаринская" (1848), "Испанские увертюры" ("Арагонская хота", 1845, и "Ночь в Мадриде", 1851), заложили основы русского симфонизма. Классик русского романса. "Патриотическая песня" Глинки стала музыкальной основой государственного гимна Российской Федерации. Учреждены Глинкинские премии (М. П. Беляевым; 1884-1917), Государственная премия РСФСР имени Глинки (в 1965-90); проводится конкурс вокалистов имени Глинки (с 1960).

ТОРРЕС (Torres) Луис Ваэс де (1560-1614?) , испанский мореплаватель. Участник экспедиции П. Кироса 1605-06. Открыл южный берег Нов. Гвинеи, Коралловое м., зал. Папуа и пролив между Нов. Гвинеей и Австралией, назван его именем.

ФИНКА (финна) , личиночная стадия ленточных червей (напр., свиного и бычьего солитеров), паразитирующая в промежуточном хозяине (напр., свинье, овце). Имеет вид пузыря. Развитие финки в половозрелого червя происходит в кишечнике окончательного хозяина, напр. человека.
